Ensuring Effective Consultation

Nanostrand is designed to enable us to consult widely and gain significant stakeholder inputs to ensure our reports and recommendations to offer an accurate presentation of the needs of the nanotechnology community in Europe.

Our strategy for extensive stakeholder input to our project is based on

  1. Pan-European Market Consultation

    An extensive survey on the needs for measurement tool and standardisation for nanotechnology will be completed. We propose to survey at least 2,500 nanotechnology experts throughout Europe using a web-based survey.  Please click here to complete the online survey.

  2. Establishment of an Advisory Committee

    We have formed an advisory committee composed of key experts in nanostandards and nanometrology. This expert group will review and validate project results, i.e.
    1. Our reviews of nanostandards and nanometrology
    2. The results of our market consultation

  3. Hosting of two workshops;

    We will be hosting 2 expert workshops:

    1. A standardisation foresight workshop to review the results of stakeholder consultations and to develop a consensus on priorities for nanotechnology standards.
      We plan to hold this workshop in autumn 2007.
    2. A nanometrology research foresight workshop to review the results of stakeholder consultations and to develop a consensus on priorities for scientific data and new / improved measurement methods and tools.
      We plan to hold this workshop in autumn 2007.

If you are interested in participating in the pan-European consultation &/or either of the workshops, please click here.
